Philippians 4:10-14 — “I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” It has been 8 weeks since we’ve been able to gather for worship on the Lord’s Day. Many of us have adjusted to these circumstances and we’ve learned to be content. But the danger is for contentment to transform into complacency. It’s easy to become lax in our commitment to worship on the Lord’s Day and to the spiritual disciplines in general.
In this short message, we are reminded about the two sides of the Christian life. There is a holy contentment and a holy striving. Christians are people at rest and people at work. As the restrictions continue, it’s important we keep this in mind, and keep pressing on for the Lord Jesus Christ.
