Hebrews 5:1-5 — “No man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron. So also Christ glorified not himself to be made an high priest; but he that said unto him, Thou art my Son, to day have I begotten thee.” In this passage the author of Hebrews describes the role and character of the High Priest in the Old Testament. He does so in order to point His readers to Jesus and help them understand the superiority His Highly Priestly ministry. As Steve takes us through this wonderful text, we are challenged about not allowing our view of Jesus to be obscured by lesser things.
