Ephesians 6:17 — “And take the helmet of salvation…” A soldier’s helmet protected a vital part of his anatomy. It was a life-preserving piece of his armour and because it afforded him protection, it enabled him to go into battle confidently.
This is true of the Christian’s salvation – it gives him confidence to face whatever the Devil might throw at him. It also provides specific protection against the attacks of the evil one directed at his thought-life. Many Christians today struggle with anxiety and the helmet of salvation is God’s provision to deal with this challenge.
