Various Texts — Of the four Gospel writers, Luke is the one who sheds the most light on the role of women in Jesus’ life. We see the significant part that certain women had in Jesus’ ministry and their devotion to Him right to the very end. It’s also interesting how Jesus referred to women in His parables and warnings. Women may have been on the fringes in many ancient societies, but they certainly were not in the heart of God.
