Luke 6:12 — It is often difficult for us to receive teaching on the subject of prayer and that’s because it’s a part of the Christian life with which we struggle. Many of us know our prayer life is not what it should be, and yet if there is anything we need to do in the New Year it is pray!
As we continue our study in Luke’s Gospel we come to a place in the narrative where Jesus prayed. In this sermon we take some time think about why He prayed and we discover that it was for the same reasons we need to pray. We also consider what exactly we are witnessing when we see Jesus pray. If Jesus was God, why did He pray? What does His praying teach us about the Incarnation? What does it teach us about prayer?
