But What About Now?

Romans 5:3-4 — Sometimes it seems as though all we have to rejoice in as Christians are those things that await us in the future. We feel like we have to grit our teeth and somehow make it through this life while trying to keep our eyes fixed on the glory that is to come.

Is this the Christian life? Is it all about the future? What about now? Is there anything for us to rejoice in among the struggles and the suffering that we’re dealing with today?

The answer is most definitely “Yes!” and that’s what Paul explains in this wonderful text. There is joy in knowing what God is doing in our lives — “tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.”
