Exodus 7:1-13 — In this text we have the first act in the great drama of the Ten Plagues. Moses and Aaron encountered Pharaoh and performed a miracle. Aaron’s rod became a serpent, but then this miracle was replicated by Pharaoh’s magicians.
Why did God choose this particular sign to begin his confrontation with the gods of Egypt? What was the significance of the serpent in Egyptian culture? How were Pharaoh’s magicians able to do the same thing? These are the questions Pastor Brendan answers as he continues our study in the Book of Exodus.
