Colossians 4:1 — “Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven.”
This is the final command in the Household Code and it is addressed to masters, that is, to slave-owners. Thankfully, slavery no longer exists as a formal legal institution in our society so what does this text mean for us?
In this lesson, we start with the historical setting for this command and its application in the Early Church. Then we move to the ways it applies to us in our workplace. The new life we have in the Lord Jesus Christ extends to every sphere, even to the way we manage our employees.
