Luke 19:41-44 — “And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it…” For those who love the Lord Jesus, Palm Sunday feels so right, for it seems as though Jesus was finally being treated in an appropriate way. For a brief moment Jesus was not despised and rejected but rather adored and honoured. However it was at this very moment when the people wanted to crown Him as King that He began to weep intensely. This response seems unexpected and even inappropriate, so what are we to make of it? What do Jesus’ tears teach us today?
