Luke 11:21-26 — “But when a stronger than he shall come upon him, and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoils.” What was Jesus communicating to His audience by way of this little parable about a strong man who is overcome by a stronger man? Did it have something to do with the miracle He had just performed? Was it an illustration of His wider ministry? Yes, it was both as we see in this sermon.
We are reminded that Jesus is the “stronger” man and He has come into the world to conquer Satan. We also consider the sharp warning that He went on to give. There are only two sides and there is no neutrality. We either belong to Christ, or to the Devil.
