Hebrews 2:10 — “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.” If we’re going to understand the nature of sanctification we need to begin with the nature of God, which is what the writer to the Hebrews does in this verse. He talks about God’s character and about God’s purpose in creation. He then speaks of God’s purpose in the Incarnation and suffering of Christ.
For Jesus, there was a crown of thorns before a crown of glory, and this is the pathway that all the sons of God must follow.
