Colossians 3:16 — “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
Singing in corporate worship has become a very controversial issue in evangelical circles over the last 30-40 years. There’s even a term used to describe this controversy – “the worship wars.” While this lesson is not a foray into this “war,” some of what we cover is certainly applicable. As we consider this well-known text, we discern eight guidelines for our singing in public worship.
