Matthew 24:15-22 — “Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains…” As we continue our study of the Olivet Discourse we come to an urgent exhortation. When the abomination of desolation is set up in the holy place, Jesus tells those living in Judaea to run for their lives. He paints a bleak and terrifying picture of the persecution that will take place. It will be unlike anything the world has seen before.
As we consider this section of the Discourse, we think about who exactly Jesus is addressing, and what will happen if they do as He says. This period of great tribulation will force many to reckon with Jesus. Will they believe Him or will they continue to reject Him?
