Matthew 24:9-14 — “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake…” Today, there are many places around the world where followers of Jesus are persecuted. There are other places where freedom of religion is maintained but the Christian message is increasingly marginalised. In the Olivet Discourse, Jesus speaks of a time when His disciples will be hated by all nations. He speaks of a season of persecution unlike anything the world has ever seen, and yet He also tells us that during this time, the Gospel message will go out, perhaps like it never has before.
Great persecution and remarkable grace — these are what we see as we continue our study through this important prophetic text.
