Exodus 20:1-17, Romans 7:7, 13:8-10 — According to the Scriptures, love and morality are inseparable. The Apostle Paul made this connection plain when he said, “He that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” If we’re going to come to a proper definition of love we must consider God’s Law and what it means to do good to others. When we do, we begin to see that true love is quite different from the love portrayed in popular culture and advocated by the secular academy.
In our study thus far, we’ve learned that love is about closeness, communion and giving in all our relationships. In this third sermon, we learn that to love is to keep God’s Law.
