Matthew 24:1-3 — “There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down…” The Olivet Discourse is the most significant prophetic passage in the Gospels and second only to the Book of Revelation in the New Testament. It is the second longest message Jesus gave (after the Sermon on the Mount) and the longest answer He gave to a question.
In this the opening study of a new series, we carefully consider the context in which Jesus gave this message. He was responding to three questions put to Him by His disciples. What were those questions and why did they ask them? Understanding this is key to properly interpreting the prophecy that Jesus went on to give.
