Isaiah 53:12 — No one likes to be tarred with the sin of others; no one likes to have their reputation sullied. When we’ve done the right thing we don’t want to be counted among those who haven’t. We don’t want to be seen as guilty and treated accordingly, but Jesus was. In fact, Jesus stepped into the shame, the scorn and the suffering that belongs to those who’ve transgressed the law.
Jesus wrapped Himself in our guilt, our sin and our filth. He took it the cross and by His agony and by His blood washed it away, so that we might be wrapped in His righteousness – clean, free and acceptable to God forever.
