Isaiah 7:9 — “If ye will not believe, surely ye shall not be established.” Ahaz was a wicked men who led the Kingdom of Judah into mass apostasy. Despite his rebellion, when facing a formidable threat to his life, the LORD sent a prophet with a message of hope. That prophet was Isaiah and his message contains one of the most well-known Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament.
The message for Ahaz also contained a warning, if he and his people would not trust in the LORD, they would not be safe and secure in the land. This is also God’s message to us. If we are not firm in faith, we will not be firm at all.
