Luke 10:12-16 — “Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee, Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented.”
In His closing instructions to the seventy disciples, Jesus turned His attention to three towns in Galilee where He had spent much time ministering and He cursed them. In doing so He warns us about the perils of unbelief – it will take a person all the way to hell.
This text also teaches us that there are degrees of culpability and degrees of punishment. The more light a person receives, the more accountable they will be, if they reject that light. This is a sobering passage of Scripture, one we all need to pay close attention to.
