Luke 12:33-34 — “Sell that ye have, and give alms…” Some of the things that Jesus said about giving can make us feel a bit uncomfortable. In this particular verse, was He actually telling His disciples to sell their possessions and give the money to the poor? How do these words apply to us today? What else does the Bible say about this?
In this sermon, we have brief survey of what the Bible teaches about being generous. We move from the Law, to the Prophets, to John the Baptist, to Jesus and to the Apostles. This helps us understand what Jesus meant when He said, “Sell that ye have, and give alms,” and it challenges us about how tightly we hold-on to the things of this world.
