Romans 12:9a — “Let love be without dissimulation.”
“Fake news” is a term that we’re all getting used to. It describes a real phenomenon that’s swirling around the world of social media and it’s also a term that certain politicians use to dismiss unflattering news stories. More than ever we need a healthy level of scepticism when it comes to our consumption of news, social media and political messaging.
While “fake news” is something we’re learning to grapple with, as Christians we should be much more concerned about fake love. The Bible makes it clear that our love for one another is to be “without hypocrisy.”
In this sermon we consider why authentic love is so important in the Christian life and how we’re able to show it to others.
