III John 9-11 — “I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.” Generally speaking, if Christians know anything at all about the book of III John it is the name Diotrephes. Sadly, this man is known only for the wicked way he responded to the Apostle John and treated the people in his own church. In this sermon, we consider his behaviour and what motivated him. We arrive at a very important lesson for pastors and for those in their care.
