II Chronicles 18:1-28 — King Jehoshaphat of Judah was persuaded to join King Ahab of Israel in a military campaign against Syria, but before they set-off he wanted to enquire of the LORD. Ahab called together 400 of his own prophets who (unsurprisingly) brought a positive message, however Jehoshaphat was not satisfied. He asked Ahab if there were any other prophets to whom they they might speak. There was one, a man named Micaiah, and what unfolded when he was called provides a fascinating insight into the providence of God and a wonderful study in courage.
