Judges 10 — “…I will deliver you no more. Go and cry unto the gods which ye have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.” (vs.13-14) The Children of Israel were again guilty of idolatry. They rejected the LORD and went after the gods of many nations – some of the very nations that had once oppressed them. In keeping with the covenant, the LORD sent their enemies against them and their lives soon became miserable.
In their distress the Children of Israel cried out to the LORD for deliverance but this time He said, “No.” What are we to make of this? What was the LORD trying to get across to His rebellious people? As we consider these questions, we are reminded of some vitally important truths about the consequences of sin. There are things that God promises to deliver us from and things He doesn’t.
