“Come and See”

John 1:35-51 — “And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.” Instead of arguing with Nathanael about the identity of Jesus, Philip invited him to meet Jesus for himself. When Nathanael did meet Jesus, he discovered that Philip was right — Jesus was indeed the One “of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write.”

Given the way people think about truth these days, we would do well to take a leaf out of Philip’s book. We need to point people to Jesus for He is far more compelling than we could ever be. But that leads to a very important question, “Where do people see Him?” That’s what we think about in this sermon. We hope it’s a blessing to you.
