Song of Solomon 2:15 — “Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.” The Song of Solomon is the Bible’s great poem describing and extolling marital love. It tells the story of a young Solomon and his bride as they begin their life together. In this text, Solomon’s beloved expresses her wise concern that they not allow little things to spoil their relationship and their mutual joy.
In this there is a lesson for us, often it is the “little foxes” – little problems, little acts of selfishness, little sins that spoil the good in our marriages and in our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
