Luke 2:1-20 — “And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger…“ The manger is perhaps the most famous item of furniture in the Bible and it has great symbolic significance. It speaks profoundly of the Son of God’s humility. It shows that He came down to us and experienced the brokenness of this world from the very beginning. But if that’s all we think the manger was about, then we’ve missed the point! In this sermon, we see what the manger was really about and the message it communicates to us today.
