Luke 13:10-17 — “And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day…” In these verses, Luke records a miracle that Jesus performed during a worship service on the Sabbath. He healed a woman who had been painfully disabled for nearly 20 years. It was a cause for great rejoicing, but the ruler of synagogue did not share in the joy. He was angry because he believed that Jesus had violated the Sabbath, or at least that’s what he said. Was that really why he was angry?
As we consider this man’s terrible response to something truly wonderful, we discover some very important lessons when it comes to this matter of anger. If we don’t deal with anger biblically, it will do great harm to ourselves and to others. We would encourage you to watch/listen to this message and prayerfully consider what God is saying to you.
