Luke 6:41-42 — We live in an age of rampant hypocrisy. Politicians and celebrities are often on television or using social media to lecture us on what society is doing wrong and yet their own personal morality leaves a lot to be desired. Furthermore, the widespread use of social media has created limitless opportunities to critique what others are doing and many engage in this without reflecting on their own behaviour.
In this part of His sermon, Jesus had some stern things to say about hypocrisy and we would do well to listen. He also tells us how we can lovingly give and receive correction. We don’t need more hypocrisy, rather we need a healthy culture of correction.
