Never Without Hope

Luke 24:13-35 — “They rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them, Saying, The Lord is risen indeed…” Imagine being one of Jesus’ disciples and seeing Him hanging on the cross. This was the man in whom the disciples had placed all their hope, and now He was finished. It was over. Can you imagine the heartbreak and the disappointment? 

This was the experience of the two disciples on the road to Emmaus. They left Jerusalem with heavy hearts, but something happened that turned the right around. They returned to Jerusalem rejoicing! What happened to them? And how does it connect to Jesus’ disciples today?
