Genesis 18-19, II Peter 2:6-8 — “For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day…” Lot was not indifferent to the wickedness of Sodom. He was troubled by it every day, and yet when the LORD visited the city, he could not find 10 righteous people. Lot was completely ineffective in his witness for the LORD and this sermon we think about why that was.
We live in a society that is becoming more and more like Sodom, and as Christians we want to make a difference. We want our Gospel light to shine in the darkness. So we would do well to consider the example of Lot and learn from his mistakes.
