Philippians 4:14-20 — Unfortunately giving has become a controversial subject in church life. This is because there have been church leaders who have abused their standing and enriched themselves and their ministries at the expense of their congregation. If we go further back into history we see practices like the sale of indulgences and church offices which also sully the church’s reputation.
While we acknowledge these sins, giving is something that the Bible talks about at length. As God’s people we are commanded to give and that’s what Pastor Brendan discusses in this sermon. The Apostle Paul commended the Philippians for their giving and he set down some important principles for us to follow.
This is a difficult topic but a necessary one for us to learn about. We hope this sermon is helpful.
