Loneliness

John 16:32 — Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone…” Loneliness is one of the most difficult human experiences and it touches all of us. It was something that Jesus experienced, especially in the hours before His crucifixion. He told the disciples they would abandon Him which is exactly what they did.

In this sermon we consider this aspect of Jesus’ suffering — perhaps one we don’t focus on very often.  We also see that there was great consolation for Jesus in those hours of pain and darkness. His friends abandoned Him, but He was not alone, and neither are we.
