Revelation 22:16-17 — “And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” In the Christmas story we see two wonderful invitations given by God to come and see His Son. One was given to some shepherds who were watching their sheep on the night Jesus was born. The other was given to some wise men who lived far away in the East.
The Bible ends with two invitations and they aren’t so very different to the ones in the Christmas story. These are what we ponder in this sermon that was given at our Christmas Eve service. We are reminded that Jesus is coming again, and that He will satisfy our deepest needs if we come to Him and receive what He freely gives.
